Matte, more matte, most matte
In 2024, we also expect a remarkable shift in flooring trends, with a growing preference for floors with a matte finish. A prominent player taking the lead in this is Floer, with its impressive MEGAMAT PVC flooring range. Matte finished floors offer a range of advantages, such as a stylish and contemporary look and a warm and inviting atmosphere. Floer's MEGAMAT PVC floors combine durability with a sophisticated appearance and offer a wide range of colors and patterns to suit various tastes and interior styles. Herringbone and Chevron
In 2024, the playful herringbone floors will certainly remain popular. What further reinforces this classic flooring style is the growing love for neutral color palettes, especially beige tones. Herringbone floors in soft, warm beige color schemes add warmth to interior spaces while maintaining a sense of space and light. An interesting development in 2024 is the further rise of "chevron", a variation of the traditional herringbone pattern with larger planks. This more robust, large-scale version of herringbone offers a contemporary twist on a classic favorite and promises to be an impressive addition to this year's flooring trends.

Hungarian Point
In 2024, Hungarian point floors seem to be steadily gaining popularity and are increasingly considered an original and attractive alternative to traditional herringbone floors. This refined pattern is characterized by placing rectangular planks at a 45-degree angle to the walls, creating a beautiful zigzag pattern that adds depth and visual interest to any space. The Hungarian point floor combines the sophistication of a herringbone with a unique twist, making it a beloved choice for those looking for a flooring design that is both contemporary and timeless. It is expected that this flooring pattern will be seen more and more often in modern and classic interiors in 2024, and that it will earn a well-deserved place in the world of flooring trends.

Straight planks making a comeback
It's certainly not the case that everything will be (XL) herringbone and Hungarian point patterns. More and more people are also returning to traditional straight-strip PVC with staggered planks, similar to traditional parquet. These are now available in oak look that is almost indistinguishable from real wood. Choose from warm colors. Go for sleek and even without knots, or for a lively, atmospheric floor with knots and flame patterns of real oak. The trend is to choose a floor that you won't quickly tire of; replacing your floor after a few years because you don't like the color is no longer done.

More variety in PVC tiles
Previously, PVC tiles were concrete grey or anthracite black. In 2024, we will also see more variety in PVC floor tiles. Think of warm beige tones for the kitchen. Or playful terrazzo-look and marble-look PVC tiles for the bathroom or entrance.
You can find them all on this PVC tiles page.

Hybrid wood is the new parquet
Real wooden floors have gone out of style in recent years. They have been replaced by oak-look PVC in particular. Fortunately, there is something new on the market: hybrid wooden floors. These are real wooden floors with a special Woodpowder top layer that is very strong, low-maintenance, and suitable for underfloor heating! It almost sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? However, it is definitely worth considering for lovers of real European oak parquet. View the range of hybrid wooden floors here or read more information about hybrid parquet in our blog. We are fans!

Ceramic tiles
Do you want to opt for a sustainable product made in Europe that performs optimally with underfloor heating? Then consider ceramic tiles in your hall, bathroom, utility room, kitchen, or entire apartment. The trend is ceramic tiles in beige tones (also known as cast floor look) in large sizes such as 90x90 cm, but also wood look (ceramic parquet) and playful terrazzo look tiles in the hall or marble look in the bathroom will be seen even more in 2024.
Logically, because ceramics only have advantages: colorfast, extremely strong, scratch-resistant, easy to clean, and at Solza always 'Made in Europe'.
Wall covering trends
The trend of akupanel acoustic panels is roughly past its peak. The vertical wooden slats on (black) felt are certainly not out of fashion yet, but the enormous hype has somewhat subsided. With akupanel wall coverings, we also see many differences in quality. At Solza, we see more and more people choosing our XL variant with high-quality wood selections in matte oak, walnut, or mahogany made in Denmark.

Sustainable and recyclable
In 2024, sustainability will become an even more prominent factor in the world of floor design. With a growing awareness of the impact of human activities on the environment, we see a clear shift in consumer and brand preferences.
It is no longer enough for floors to be merely beautiful and functional; more and more brands are committed to recycling and reusing materials. This means we will increasingly see sustainable flooring solutions made from recycled materials or designed with a view to easy recycling at the end of their lifespan. This growing trend focuses on reducing waste and promoting a circular economy, where floors are not only beautiful but also contribute to a healthier planet.

Professionally laying and maintaining floors also contributes
Our A-brands remain committed to sustainability and recycling. This will play an even more important role in the flooring landscape of 2024. Vivafloors even has a special recycling service for PVC floors.
Go for a floor for life!
We recommend choosing a timeless 'floor for life', just like your grandparents used to. We also realize more and more that professional installation and good maintenance contribute to its lifespan. Do you have a timeless home? Then choose, for example, hybrid parquet, cork floors, click PVC, or laminate floors that are easy to disassemble for reuse elsewhere.
Do you have plans for a new floor that should last a long time and has a low footprint in production and recycling? Flooring store Solza would like to help you make the world a little more beautiful.
