Efficient packaging and application

Our primer for all your tiling projects comes in a convenient 10-liter jerrycan with a resealable cap. Using the primer before applying leveling compound or tile adhesive to an absorbent substrate helps seal the surface. This prevents unnecessary use of a lot of leveling compound or adhesive and simultaneously improves the adhesion surface.

The primer is ready-to-use, water and alkali resistant, and solvent-free. It has very low emissions, is fast-drying, and can be used universally for both indoor and outdoor applications. This makes it an extremely versatile and reliable choice for all types of ceramic tiling projects.

Instructions for use and points of attention

After cleaning the substrate, apply the primer to seal the floor and prevent leveling compound or adhesive from penetrating the substrate. Please note: the primer must not be applied wet-on-wet and is not suitable for use at floor temperatures below 5 degrees or above 30 degrees. Store frost-free in the original packaging. Always consult the packaging for the correct mixing ratios and information on application and curing.

How much primer do I need?

With the Primer Unigrund 10L - For absorbent substrates from the German top brand Schomburg, you will use approximately 200 milliliters per square meter. With this jerrycan of Schomburg primer, you can prime approximately 50m2.

Important: alternative for non-absorbent substrates

Please note: this primer for tiled floors is not suitable for use on non-absorbent substrates. In that case, we recommend Unigrund-S as an alternative. Always choose the right product for your specific substrate to guarantee the best results and durability of your tiling work.

What else do I need?

When you are working on tiling, you often need 5 essential materials. Namely, a good primer to make your substrate less absorbent, a leveling compound to flatten the floor, tile adhesive to stick the tiles, grout to fill the gaps between the tiles, and sealant to finish the edges and expansion joints.
