Frequently asked questions about PVC floor heating
Is a PVC floor suitable for underfloor heating?
Yes, PVC floors are excellently suited for underfloor heating. They have a low thermal resistance and conduct heat efficiently, allowing the room to warm up quickly and evenly.
Which subfloor is suitable for PVC on underfloor heating?
For adhesive PVC, a leveled subfloor is required. For click PVC, the underlay must have a low thermal resistance (<0.05 m²K/W) to ensure good heat transfer.
What is the maximum temperature for a PVC floor with underfloor heating?
Most PVC floors can be heated up to approximately 27-30°C. Always check the floor's specifications to prevent damage from overheating.
Can I install PVC on an existing tiled floor with underfloor heating?
Yes, provided the tile floor is even and well-adhered. For glue-down PVC, joints must first be levelled to prevent show-through. For click PVC, a suitable subfloor is required.
