That is why the subfloor is of great importance. We do not recommend laying the PVC strips around a non-even subfloor. The more even the subfloor is, the longer the PVC strip floor will last.

What are PVC strips?

PVC strips to cover your floor are made of PVC and have a long service life. The strips are generally 1.52 meters long, this differs per floor and brand, and can be laid lengthwise. In contrast to the herringbone floor, no pattern needs to be followed here. Another advantage of the PVC strip floor is that they are water resistant. This allows them to be used in the bathroom or any other damp room. Cleaning with water is therefore no problem at all. PVC floors have a solid top layer which is not only scratch resistant, they also have a very sound-absorbing effect. Especially nice if you live in an apartment.

Maintenance of your PVC strip floor

Floors that are covered with PVC strips are easy to maintain. Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping are no problem at all. Thanks to the scratch-resistant top layer, you don't have to worry about scratches with the vacuum cleaner and wet mopping is no problem for PVC. The floor has a wood motif. However, because they are strips of PVC and not real wood, you do not have to polish the floor and it retains its beautiful appearance.

How to lay a floor made of PVC strips?

When you choose a floor with PVC strips, you can choose from dryback (paste) PVC floors or click PVC. Both are easy to lay. The Dryback PVC floors have a solid adhesive layer so that you stick them to the subfloor. You lay the shelves tightly together. You click the click PVC together as it were. Both systems are easy to install, but if you do not want to do it yourself, we always advise you to have an expert lay the floor. They do this daily and therefore ensure a tight and beautifully laid floor.

As mentioned, we have the possibility to choose from 2 types of floors. Everyone has their own way of laying, but also their characteristics. The click PVC floor is easy to install due to the click connection. You do not need glue for laying and the floor can therefore be removed in no time when, for example, a move. The floor is water resistant and can also be laid over underfloor heating. Despite the fact that the floor can be over an uneven subfloor, we do not recommend this. Some floors even have an intrigued subfloor, super handy!

The Dryback floor is also called the slab floor. This floor is glued to the surface. These PVC strips are also water resistant and can be used in a wet room. With underfloor heating, they also have no problem. The advantage of bonding is that the floor generally lasts longer. The disadvantage is that the floor is less easy to remove and really requires an even subfloor.
